Police in Bradenton, Fla., have arrested a woman for trying to pay an undercover officer, posing as a hitman, to kill her ex-husband.
According to arrest documents from the Manatee County Sherriff’s office a woman agreed to pay the undercover officer $5,000 US to kill her ex.
“Rachel went on to describe that she has thought about [her ex-husband] being kidnapped and taken to another country and made into a sex slave,” the arrest record reads.
Police say they became aware of the plot on Aug. 23, and they arranged to get the woman in touch with an undercover police officer posing as a prospective hitman.

According to police, the woman suggested to the undercover officer that her ex-husband could be killed in a drowning or fire that could be made to look like an accident.
According to Manatee County Sherriff’s office arrest records, the woman was arrested Sept. 8 after making the first in a series of payments to the “hitman.”
She has been formally charged with solicitation of murder and is being held on a US $100,000 bond.
After her arrest, police informed the man targetted of his ex-wife’s plan to have him killed.
“His reaction at first was ‘Oh, OK.’ And kind of stand-offish a little bit, ‘cuz I don’t know it was sinking into him. I think it just was kind of a shock,” Manatee County Sheriff spokesman Dave Bristow told WFLA News.
