Forty-three-year old Scott McCooeye is charged with three counts of possession of child pornography, one count distribution of child pornography, and two counts of make available child pornography.

Investigators say computers, cellular devices and external digital media that were seized are being forensically analysed.

Police say they began their investigation in June after receiving reports from the National Child Exploitation Co-ordination Centre.

They say the reports indicated that IP addresses in the Ottawa area were uploading images and video of child sexual abuse via the Internet and Google.
