Sask. NHL Hall of Famer represents 2013 Memorial Cup volunteers

Former Saskatoon Blade and Hockey Hall of Famer Bernie Federko was named volunteer ambassador for the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup today.

The Foam Lake native still holds the Blades’ single-season record for points and has a 14-year career in the NHL.

“This is home still. My mom still lives here. It is a privilege (to be involved) and I hope the Blades win the Memorial Cup,” said Federko.

In 2002, he became the first Blade alumnus to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
