Crash in Abbotsford leaves 2 pedestrians, including 6-year-old girl, seriously injured

A six-year-old girl had to be airlifted to hospital after a serious crash in Abbotsford this morning.

It happened around 7:15 a.m. in a pedestrian-controlled intersection at the corner of Bevan Avenue and Peardonville Road.

Sgt. Judy Bird with Abbotsford Police says their officers, along with fire and ambulance crews, attended to two pedestrians at the scene – a six-year-old girl and a 20-year-old woman.

Both were seriously injured as the result of being struck by an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado.

The male driver remained at the scene and is fully cooperative.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
