Video of Nuit Blanche exhibits goes viral

TORONTO – Just over 25 hours after Nuit Blanche came to an end, a video remembering the all-night art festival has gone viral.

The video, produced by Toronto digital video firm Biz Media, captures some shockingly beautiful scenes from Toronto’s Nuit Blanche festival.

Devoid of other natural sounds, and shot in mostly slow motion, the two minute video shows the art of Nuit Blanche from a much different perspective.

Writing on Vimeo, one of the creators of the video wrote, “For one night each year, Toronto’s streets become an outdoor interactive art gallery. Last year our goal was to beat the press and release a video before sunrise the next morning. This year our goal was no different. The crowds were huge, the art was amazing and we were up all night making this video so you can experience it all over again – the very next day.”

Michael Kolberg from the Toronto Standard writes that the video allows the viewer to experience Nuit Blanche “the way it could be seen in an ideal world.”

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Metro News called it a “work of art,” on their Twitter feed.

The video briefly trended on Twitter on Monday afternoon.
