WINNIPEG — Former Winnipeg Blue Bomber executive Jerry Maslowsky has died.
Maslowsky died on Saturday evening after battling cancer. He had been the CEO of Variety, the Children’s Charity of Manitoba since 2014. But Maslowsky became best known for his work with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
He was the V.P. of Sales and Marketing for the Bombers, serving the blue and gold for over a decade starting in 2000. He acted in a variety of roles across Winnipeg – from marketing strategist for CKND TV and 680 CJOB Radio, to developing the “Save the Jets” campaign in 1996. Condolences from sports figures and many across Manitoba expressed their condolences of Maslowsky’s death over social media.
The Blue Bombers wore “JM” decals on their helmets on Sunday as they took on the rival Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Labour Day Classic to honour Maslowsky.
