Victoria Police are looking for witnesses of a sexual assault that took place on Cormorant Street early Aug. 31.
Police say passersby called authorities when they allegedly saw someone being sexually assaulted on the 700-block of Cormorant Street around 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

Officers arrived at the scene and arrested one man, but Major Crime Detectives believe witnesses may be able to share what they saw with police.
They say there were several witnesses who saw a woman and the suspect together before and during the assault, including a male witness who was wearing black and walking on Cormorant Street at the time.
Police say the suspect may have yelled at the witness during the assault.
