Three charged in Lashburn, Sask. crime spree

Three people are facing numerous charges following a crime spree last month in Lashburn, Sask.

Police said late in the evening of Aug. 21, the corner store in the community southeast of Lloydminster was broken into by a man, woman and youth.

They caused damage to the store before taking off with property valued at under $5,000.

A few hours later, the store was broken into again.

This time police said the thieves caused more damage and made off with numerous cartons and packages of cigarettes, chewing tobacco, pop, chips, candy, the surveillance system and a computer totaling over $21,000.

According to police, the trio then went around town checking for open vehicles.

Police said approximately four camper trailers and between 10 and 15 vehicles were entered.

One was found with the keys inside and the thieves drove it to Lloydminster.

The vehicle was located by Mounties however when they tried to pull it over, the driver took off.

It was located a short time later back in Lashburn, but in a different part of town.

Brayden Coolidge, 19, from Lashburn, Destiny Kallis from Lloydminster and a 17-year-old youth are now facing numerous charges including break and enter and theft of a motor vehicle.

The youth is also facing a charge of obstructing a police officer.

They are scheduled to appear in Lloydminster court on Oct. 25.
