The Saskatoon Fire Department has dealt with two natural gas leaks so far this week and fortunately no one was hurt.
At around 9:55 a.m. CT on Tuesday, firefighters received a 911 call about 28 33rd Street East. An overhead heating unit had been dislodged by a forklift and gas was free flowing into the building.
Upon arrival, crews found occupants evacuating and took gas concentration readings.
The gas meter was shut off as the gas line to the heater had been separated. Fire crews eliminated any sources of ignition and used fans to ventilate the building.

On Monday afternoon, the fire department were called to a large natural gas leak at the rear of 240 Secord Way where a construction crew was were using an auger and hit the natural gas feeder line to that area.
Firefighters isolated a safe zone using a gas concentration monitor and evacuated some of the construction workers in the area. SaskEnergy was called to the scene.
