RCMP have laid charges against a Manitoba woman after her three-month-old baby girl was found unresponsive in Thompson on Sunday.

Julienne Towers has been charged with criminal negligence, two counts of abandoning a child and failure to provide the necessities of life.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Dominion Bay in Thompson around 10:20 p.m. on Sunday. They found the three-month-old and took her to hospital where she later died.

A one-year-old boy was also found in the home and taken to hospital as a precaution.

The 22-year-old is set to appear in court on Thursday.
