Bill Walsh, the general manager of the Wellington Street merchants association, said the aim of the festival is to put Verdun on the map when it comes to family activities.

“People are really attracted by that kind of show,” said Walsh. “And also more than just being clowns and funny, puppets are delivering messages to the people. They’re talking about the environment, they’re talking about respect, intimidation, friendships. So it’s not just entertainment.”

The festival was held on the Wellington promenade between Lasalle and 6th avenuew.

60 performers were invited to this year’s edition.
