Round one of the CP Women’s Open halted due to inclement weather Thursday at Priddis Green Golf and Country Club, southwest of Calgary.
Thunder and lightning along with heavy rain forced play to be suspended for two hours and 50 minutes.

Play resumed at 2:40 p.m. MT, with Miriam Lee of South Korea leading at five under par.
World No. 1 Lydia Ko was tied for second at four under par.
Smith Falls, Ont. native Brooke Henderson was scheduled to begin round one at 1:31 p.m., but was pushed back to 4:20 p.m. MT.
The group playing Thursday included Lydia Ko, the Olympic silver medallist from New Zealand, who is No. 1 in the Rolex LPGA rankings. She was tied at four under with Catriona Matthew of Scotland, Stephanie Meadow of Northern Ireland and South Korea’s Mi Jung Hur and So Yeon Ryo.
Toronto’s Rebecca Lee-Bentham was at 1 under through 14 holes and was the top Canadian, one shot ahead of Calgary’s Jennifer Ha who was even through eight holes.

The $2.25-million Canadian Women’s Open was last held in Priddis in 2009 and runs through Sunday with 153 golfers in the field.
Now sponsored by Canadian Pacific, the purse includes $337,500 for the winner.
