Saskatoon police arrest 4 and find knives, bear mace in vehicle

A BB gun, knives and bear mace was seized by Saskatoon police following a traffic stop of a suspicious vehicle.

At around 9:45 a.m. CT on Wednesday, officers were called to a report that a vehicle was being driven erratically and had struck a fence in the back alley of the 700-block of 8th Avenue North.

When police conducted a traffic stop, two passengers fled the vehicle and went into a nearby residence. The two men, aged 21 and 29, were found and arrested.

A 29-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman who stayed in the vehicle were also taken into custody.

A search of the vehicle turned up the weapons.

All four are facing numerous weapons-related charges.

Police say more charges are expected as they continue to investigate.
