A 35-year-old man is dead after a single vehicle rollover near the powwow grounds in Masckwacis, Alta. on Sunday morning.
At 3:47 a.m., RCMP, along with Maskwacis EMS and Fire Services responded to the crash.
Four people were inside the car at the time.
RCMP said the 35-year-old driver, from Ermineskin Cree First Nation, was taken to a local hospital, then flown by STARS Air Ambulance to an Edmonton hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The 34-year-old woman who was in the front passenger seat, also from Ermineskin Cree First Nation, is still in hospital in Edmonton suffering serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, according to Mounties.
There were two people in the backseat: a 34-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman.
The man was treated by EMS on scene and released and the woman was taken to a local hospital and has since been released.
The cause of the rollover is still being investigated.
Maskwacis, formerly known as Hobbema, is located 90 kilometres south of Edmonton.
