Police believe fatal daylight shooting in downtown Toronto was targeted

Police say a 33-year-old man fatally shot in a downtown Toronto underground parking garage on Sunday afternoon was targeted.

Officers responded to a call of a collision at a condominium at 954 King St. W. near Strachan Avenue around 12:30 p.m. when they located a motorcyclist with gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say a person of interest was seen leaving the area on a bicycle. He is described as a white male wearing a black bicycle helmet.

The shooting victim has been identified as John Ignagni of Toronto. Investigators say he was known to police.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.
