WINNIPEG — A crisis team that works with at-risk youth in Winnipeg will be going back to work after being on strike since the beginning of the month.
Counsellors with Macdonald Youth Services (MYS) have been on strike since Aug. 2 but that ended Thursday when a return to work agreement was reached.

The agreement states that MYS and the Manitoba Government and General Employees’ Union (MGEU) will resume bargaining at the earliest opportunity and will continue to fight the province to increase wages to be comparable with the adult system.
The frontline workers have been without a collective agreement since 2014.
The Mobile Crisis team at Macdonald Youth Services made nearly 1,500 visits to families and young people with at-risk, self-harm and mental health issues in the past year.
