Dorval Municipal Golf Course clubhouse gets new lease on life

The clubhouse of the old Dorval Municipal Golf Course is getting a new lease on life.

It has been moved to the back of Académie Sainte-Anne, the school that now sits on the site of the former Queen of Angels, and will become the field house for new synthetic athletic grounds.

The field house is part of a $3 million partnership between the school and Dorval.

The city will chip in $1 million; the rest will come from the school and additional money will come from the province to establish athletics at the school.

As part of the bargain, Dorval will be allowed to use the field free of charge for the next 15 years.

“This is a win-win situation,” said Karoline Labelle, a city spokesperson.

“The lease of the old Dorval Municipal Golf Course was up and we had to return the land to its original state.”

The field is scheduled to open in October.
