An 18-year-old male suffered serious injuries after police say he fell from the roof of a high school in east-end Toronto overnight.

Officers responded to the call around 3 a.m. and located the male behind a locked gate near a hydro vault at Sir John A. Macdonald Collegiate Institute on Pharmacy Road just east of Victoria Park Avenue.

Toronto police say hydro crews were brought in to open the gate and the male was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the teen was with two other friends when he fell. There’s no word on why or how the male got onto the roof.

It’s not known if the three individuals will face any charges.
