WINNIPEG — The former Target location at Polo Park will stay empty for awhile longer as the owner says there is limited interest in the site.

“It’s a challenging location,” said Deborah Green, the general manager of Cadillac Fairview Polo Park. Cadillac Fairview bought the site just north of the mall in May 2015 for nearly $20 million.

Green said the building is unique, with the shopping floor on the second level, and that has made it a challenge to lease.

She said they are also considering dividing the 150,000 square foot building up.

“We are looking at all options,” Green told Global News.

While that site sits vacant, the nearby Polo Park is filling some spots.

Vero Moda, Only, Jack and Jones and Premium by Jack and Jones are all getting ready to open locations in the mall. PINK is also opening a store near its parent company, Victoria’s Secret, in a few weeks.
