When the employee allegedly tried to stop the suspect from leaving, police said he pushed him aside and ran from the store.

Investigators were allegedly able to locate the man at nearby Bayview Park, after following a “trail of candy wrappers left behind.”

“He literally unwrapped a couple of chocolate bars while he was doing it and then lay down in the park for a little rest after enjoying his tummy full of candy,” said Const. Nicole Rodgers.

“He was intoxicated and needed a little place to rest for a couple of hours I think.”
