Over the weekend, Justin Bieber posted six black and white photos of him with alleged new girlfriend Sofia Richie on Instagram.
But it appears Bieber’s millions of fans would like to see a whole lot less of Lionel Richie’s daughter on the Canadian singer’s social media accounts.
“The Beliebers,” as they’re called, have started to leave snake emojis on photos of the two, and are calling attention to Bieber’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez by commenting “Team Selena.”
One photo now has over 410,000 comments.

The commentary is so intense, Bieber has said he may make it harder for people to reach him via social media: “I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like.”
That statement prompted a harsh response from his pop singer ex.
In a comment captured by the Shade Room, Gomez sided with the Beliebers and wrote: “If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol -it should be special between you two only. Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you.”

The Sorry hitmaker went on to respond to the criticism from Gomez and his fans. He wrote: “It’s funny to see that people used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love.” In another comment, he added: “I’m not one for anyone receiving hate. Hope u can all be kind to my friends and each other. And yes I love my beliebers.”
The 22-year-old only recently began to follow Gomez on social media again. He previously unfollowed her on social media websites in November 2014 after the pair split.
In what could be deemed as “shade” toward the Stratford native, Gomez went on to post a series of photos of herself with her fans on Sunday night and captioned one with, “My whole life. You matter most. Thank you for letting me do what I love everyday,” while she disabled the comments section on the post.
