Nova Scotia’s Natural Resources department says despite challenging weather conditions, firefighters have gained ground on an out-of-control wildfire near Kejimkujik National Park.
The province says crews held the line on Wednesday, making progress on the 350-hectare fire that is now 35 per cent contained.

Smoke from the fire has been moving across the province, reaching the Halifax area and affecting air quality in Annapolis, Kings, Lunenburg and Queens counties.
Natural Resources says a wildfire at Ten Mile Lake is being held, but continues to be very challenging.
Meanwhile, small fires in Round Hill and Coldbrook and three in the Morganville area were either contained or extinguished on Wednesday.
Blazes in Clyde River, Perch Lake, West Dalhousie, Maitland Bridge, and Collingwood were still contained as of Wednesday evening.
