Calgary police charge 2nd person in fatal assault of Tyler Sanderson

Police have charged a 24-year-old man in relation to the fatal assault of Tyler Sanderson.

Sanderson, 24, was found seriously injured in the 5500 block of Maddock Drive N.E. on May 15. He was rushed to hospital where he later died.

Lori Ann Heavenfire, 34, was charged with second-degree murder in the case on July 18.

Police allege Sanderson met with Heavenfire and “at least one other man in relation to drug activity.” Officers said Wednesday they believe there was an altercation in the Memorial Drive and 52 Street N.E. area.

“Investigators believe the victim made his way home after the altercation, before collapsing in his yard where he was found by family members,” police said in a statement.

Dylan Irvin George Calf, of no fixed address, has also been charged with second-degree murder, police said Wednesday.

Calf is set to appear in court Sept. 9.
