GO Transit has put its trains under a three day “slow order” due to the scorching heat wave.
The transit service is concerned temperatures averaging the low 30s before humidity have created a high risk for “sun kinks” that bend steel rails and pose a safety issue if trains pass over them too quickly.

Tuesday’s order means GO trains, as well as the Union Pearson Express, will reduce their speed and add an average of several minutes per trip.
