Worker seriously injured at Agrium’s Vanscoy, Sask., potash mine

Operations at a potash mine in Saskatchewan have been suspended after a worker was seriously injured.

Todd Steen, general manager of Agrium‘s (TSX:AGU) mine in Vanscoy, said the worker was caught between two pieces of equipment while underground early Monday morning.

Steen said the worker has very serious injuries.

He did not identify the worker or give the worker’s age, but said the man’s family is with him at a Saskatoon hospital.

Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety is on site and working with the potash company.
