Man from Langdon charged in relation to crash that killed Katherine Ditto

It’s been more than three months since a crash east of Calgary claimed the life of a young woman.

Early in the investigation, drunk driving was suspected and Saturday, a man was finally charged.

RCMP confirmed charges have been laid in the tragic crash that killed 21-year-old Katherine ditto, a nursing student.

The crash happened just after 11 p.m. April 19 south of Langdon.

Ditto was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 30s was taken to hospital in serious but non-life threatening condition.

Scott Andrews, a 36-year-old from Langdon, has been charged with impaired driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death.

Ditto’s death left a huge impact on the community. Fundraising efforts brought in more than $16,000 for Katherine’s family in a short period of time.

She’s being remembered as having a fearless soul and sense of humour that will be forever missed.

No word yet on when Andrews’ expected to make his first court appearance.
