The man accused of killing nine-month-old Austin Wright was back in court Wednesday, when his lawyer was told the case will require an out-of-town prosecutor and judge.
Tyler Hogan, 40, appeared by closed-circuit television (CCTV) in Lethbridge court.

Hogan is charged with second-degree murder and was arrested on July 27 in relation to the death of Austin, who was found dead in a Lethbridge home last April.

Hogan’s lawyer, Tonii Roulston, asked for the case to be put over. She told Global News she may consider making an application for a change of venue in the case.
Hogan has family ties to a retired Lethbridge judge, so if a trial were to happen in the city, an out-of-town prosecutor and judge would be involved.
His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 8.
He remained in custody Wednesday.
