Hockey favourite and former Montreal Canadiens star defenceman P.K. Subban is back in Montreal to host the P.K. Subban’s All-Star Comedy Gala.
Proceeds raised by the P.K. Subban Foundation for the gala will be donated to the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation.
The comedy show is the latest fundraiser the all-star has held to help sick children in Montreal.
Last year, Subban and his foundation pledged at least $10 million to the Children’s Hospital, billed as the largest philanthropic commitment ever made by a professional athlete in Canada.
“This is about what’s important in life,” said Subban when he made the commitment.
“Every time you walk into this hospital, you’ll know what I stand for.”
In typical Subban fashion, the star posted a message on Instagram Sunday.
“Bonsoir Montreal!” he said in the video. “I’m in the mix. The eagle has landed.”

Montrealers are welcoming the star back with open arms, after he was traded to the Nashville Predators for Shea Weber at the end of June.
It was a move that devastated hockey fans in Montreal.
