A 51-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged after contraband cigarettes and a large amount of cash were found in a tractor-trailer transporting ice cream.
Marion Budica was pulled over by Manitoba RCMP on the outskirts of Winnipeg Monday, just before 12 p.m. Police said he was transporting ice cream from Toronto to British Columbia.
Several cartons of contraband cigarettes were seized. RCMP also found $500,000, which was seized along with the tractor-trailer unit.
Budica was arrested under the Manitoba Tobacco Tax Act. He is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
