Earlier this year, Mukasey, in an article in the National Review titled “Conservatives against Donald Trump, listed reasons why “a Donald Trump presidency would imperil our national security.”

Included in the list were Trump’s plan to ban Muslims from the U.S. and his statement saying he would “order the military to kill the families of terrorists.”

“The message from this convention to everyone watching these proceedings – and the message to her – should be loud, clear and short: ‘No way Hillary, no way on earth!’”

Mukasey was among many politicians and celebrities speaking at Day 2 of the convention, including Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.

Ryan has said he has problems with Trump’s combative style, but in June (after Trump had already cinched enough delegates) he jumped on the bandwagon and endorsed him.
