Suspect wanted for attempted murder after woman hit by car in Hamilton

Police are asking the public for help in locating a man wanted for attempted murder after they say a woman was struck by a car in an empty Hamilton, Ont. parking lot earlier this month.

Hamilton police said a woman was walking in the parking lot located at Main Street East and Hughson Street South on July 3 around 8:30 p.m., when she was struck from behind by a vehicle.

The driver then fled the scene and the woman was injured and required medical attention, according to police.

Investigators from the Human Trafficking and Homicide Units then identified 20-year-old Douvainn Dean as a suspect. He is wanted on charges of attempted murder, assault, material benefits from sexual services and advertizing sexual services.

The suspect is described by police as a black male, standing approximately 5’5” tall, weighing 160 pounds, with “obvious scarring on the right side of his face” and is known to wear glasses.

Police said he is also known to frequent hotels and be in the company of young females.
