Barkely says Mudd and Pike love to pull her around town, and they are absolutely the best dogs as long as they get their exercise.

“These dogs love it and it’s great exercise. They are having fun and if they didn’t do it they would be naughty.”

Just over a year ago, Barkley started training her dogs for agility competitions using a K9 dog cart. Barkley says it’s not a common pastime in southern Alberta.

“I have the only cart, as far as I know, in Lethbridge.”

The trio hits the pavement about three to four times a week, usually for 15 kilometres at a time.

“When I can I go on the road, but I stay out of everyone’s way,” Barkely said.

Barkley admits she gets some mixed reaction when people see her coasting down Lethbridge streets with her pooches, but for the most part, people seem to like it.

“They are always cheering me on and saying, ‘way to go.’ It  looks like fun,” Barkley added.
