Teenage cyclist recovering in hospital after collision with car

MONTREAL – A 15-year-old cyclist is recovering in hospital after his bike collided with a car in Montreal’s Rosemont borough Friday evening.

The collision happened at around 7:20 p.m. at the corner of Marquette Street and Rosemont Boulevard.

Police said the cyclist was heading north on Marquette Street when he went through the intersection and collided with a car heading west on Rosemont Boulevard.

According to information gathered by officers at the scene, the cyclist failed to stop at the intersection.

He was rushed to hospital in critical condition, with injuries to his head and arm.

Initially police feared for his life but now say the teen’s condition has stabilized and his injuries are non-life-threatening.
