Five people were taken to hospital after a collision west of Morinville on Friday.
Cpl. Laurel Scott of the Alberta RCMP said the collision took place at Highway 44 and Highway 643 at around 4:20 p.m. She said an SUV traveling westbound on Highway 643 collided with a southbound truck traveling on Highway 44.
Scott said there were two people in the SUV and four people, including two children, in the truck.
Two people from the SUV and three people from the truck were taken to hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries.
“The photos and the collision scene certainly looked a lot worse than the resulting injuries. That is a good thing,” she said.
Scott said it is too early to pinpoint a cause and whether charges will be laid in the collision.
