The Regina Police Service (RPS) has confirmed that an officer’s conduct online is being investigated.
In a Global News exclusive, Global obtained this statement from RPS:
The Regina Police Service is aware that there have been comments posted to an online news story that can be attributed to an active member of the Regina Police Service. This individual was off-duty at the time the comments were made. this individual did not identify himself as an employee of the Regina Police Service.
The statement goes on to highlight the RPS social media policy that is supposed to guide RPS employees’ use of social media.
The policy also states:
The statement also says RPS will be investigating the matter.
“We want to assure the public that we take very seriously any allegation of employee conduct that affects public trust in our police service. We will look into this matter to gather all available information and then take the appropriate action.”
Global News has obtained copies of some extremely disturbing comments which were made on a Global News story posted online Thursday night regarding the tragic police shooting in Dallas, Texas.

The user of the post has not been verified as the officer in question but does have the same name.
The Facebook comment calls Black Lives Matter (also known as BLM) a terror group and says President Barack Obama should allocate resources to destroy it. Another comment says the “KKK have been dormant for years….BLM is a much larger threat.”
