No foul play suspected in Herry Patel’s death: Winnipeg police

WINNIPEG — Winnipeg police have confirmed the body found in vehicle pulled from Red River on July 1, is missing man Herry Patel.

Police released the information Tuesday afternoon and said foul play is not suspected.

Patel, 31, was last seen on June 25 in the East Kildonan neighbourhood after leaving work. Hundreds of volunteers, friends and family searched the area after he went missing, in an effort to find him.

On June 30, the dive unit found a red Hyundai Elantra belonging to Patel near the Fort Garry Bridge. Police also confirmed they found a body within the car but had to wait for an autopsy before confirming Patel’s identity.
