ST. MARYS, Ont. – Police are on the hunt for two large dogs running loose in St. Marys, near Stratford, after they say a cat was attacked and killed this weekend.
Investigators say a resident was awakened around 1 a.m. Saturday by the sound of her cat in distress on the front porch.
They say she opened the door to find two large dogs, one of which had her cat in its mouth.
Police say the dogs fled and dropped the cat, which died within minutes.
The dogs, described as a bullmastiff type breed, have not yet been found and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
