Sylvan Lake RCMP are investigating after two men allegedly attempted to abduct a 13-year-old girl.
Police said the girl was walking with friends near the Sylvan Lake library at around 11 p.m. Monday when she and her friends separated. Shortly after, the teen noticed a vehicle which was operating “in a suspicious manner,” so she hid in a nearby bush.
Officers said the man driving the vehicle got out, grabbed the girl out of the bush and pulled her hair. A male passenger remained in the vehicle, and said “let’s find another one,” police said.
After a struggle, the girl was able to run away to safety.
The driver of the vehicle is described as a man in his late 20s who stands 5’10” to 5’11” tall with an average build. He has dark brown hair which falls to his eyebrows. He was wearing khaki pants and a black hoodie with a zipper. Police said the man had a bump on his nose, similar to someone who may have previously broken their nose. He talked in a low voice and may have been right-handed.
Police said the vehicle was a white, newer-style four-door with tinted rear windows. It had black tires and black rims with a rear fin over the trunk and a loud muffler.
