A new website is hoping to draw attention to the issue of foreign ownership, using a controversial page from Donald Trump’s playbook.
It is called ‘Make Vancouver Great Again‘, which is a take on Trump’s Make America Great Again.
The website claims the region’s housing crisis is largely due to wealthy foreign investors making it impossible for longtime residents to stay in Metro Vancouver.

While the people behind the website are staying anonymous, Global News managed to speak to one of them over the phone.
This is not a race issue, this is not a class issue, this is not a generational issue,” said Tara, who did not want her last name used. “This is about people [who] are living here without paying taxes and people who live here, the people who work, the people who are providing these services to everyone, doctors, teachers, nurses, they can’t afford to live here anymore.”
“And that’s the bigger issue.”
