In a statement, both organizations said they never contact the public by phone to raise money.

The Calgary Police Foundation is a not-for-profit which raises money for youth programs that aim to keep kids safe from crime through education, prevention and early intervention.

Here are a few things to keep in mind should you get a phone call from someone claiming to be with Calgary police or the Calgary Police Foundation.

The foundation:

  • never employs telemarketers to solicit money
  • never asks for your credit card over the phone
  • never engages in rude, aggressive, or confrontational behaviour
  • always adheres to a very friendly and professional code of conduct
  • always encourages you to contact us with any questions about fundraising initiatives or our programs.
