Sask. RCMP investigating alleged fraud against Canadian government lay charge

A lengthy investigation into an alleged fraud against the Government of Canada has resulted in a Saskatchewan man being charged. Kristian Eggum, of Prince Albert, is facing one count of fraud over $5,000.

RCMP economic crime investigators received the initial complaint in August 2013.

As a result, police charged the 78-year-old man.

The fraud allegedly occurred between May 30, 2006 and May 2, 2012.

Eggum was scheduled to make his first appearance in Prince Albert provincial court on Thursday afternoon.
