Stabbing in Richmond leaves one man in serious condition

One man is in hospital after a stabbing in Richmond Wednesday afternoon.

It happened over the noon hour on Williams Road near No.2 Road.

A 45-year-old man from Richmond was taken to hospital suffering from multiple stab wounds. His injuries are considered serious.

The suspect, described as a white man with a shaved head and extensive arm tattoos, fled the area in a silver Mercedes Benz convertible before police arrived.

He was arrested several hours later.

Investigators said it appears that earlier in the morning, the suspect was involved in some sort of disturbance near the residence of the victim, which led to a verbal confrontation. The victim was preparing to mow his lawn before he was allegedly stabbed by the suspect. Both the victim and suspect were known to each other.

Thirty-five-year-old Jason Curtiss Billing of Surrey is currently in custody, facing one charge of aggravated assault.
