Kristen Stewart among stars with movies added to TIFF

Kristen Stewart, Selena Gomez, Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron are just some of the big stars whose movies were added to the Toronto International Film Festival schedule on Tuesday.

Stewart, whose relationship with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson was tested following her recent fling with a married director, stars in On the Road with TIFF regular Viggo Mortensen.

Kidman and Efron could be at TIFF with The Paperboy, a film noir from Lee Daniels (Precious) that also stars Matthew McConaughey and John Cusack. Gomez, who is dating Canadian pop star Justin Bieber, is in Spring Breakers with James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson.

Programmers also announced the closing night gala will be the British film Song for Marion, starring Terence Stamp, Vanessa Redgrave and Gemma Arterton.

Other titles added to the festival, which runs Sept. 6 to 16, include The Master starring Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman; Love is All You Need with Pierce Brosnan; Yellow starring Sienna Miller; Arthur Newman with Emily Blunt and Colin Firth; and Bad 25, Spike Lee’s documentary about Michael Jackson’s album Bad.

Toronto resident Rachel McAdams stars in Passion, an erotic thriller by director Brian De Palma, at TIFF.

Previously announced films include Cloud Atlas with Tom Hanks, The Place Beyond the Pines starring Canadian actor Ryan Gosling, and the opening night presentation Looper with Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
