Several families were forced out of their homes early this morning after a storm tore through West Vancouver.
The heavy rain started around midnight and caused Willow Creek to flood its banks.
Ten homes were evacuated in the 4400-block of Ross Crescent. The water was running knee-deep on the street at one point.
West Vancouver Fire and Rescue now says the area has been stabilized and crews continue to pump water out of the area. All residents have since been allowed back in their homes.
A number of the properties suffered extensive water and mud damage.
“We had a lot of rain in a short period of time and one of the creeks overflowed and ran down Keith Road,” said West Vancouver Deputy Chief Tony D’Angelo.
