Manitoba Airshow takes flight this weekend in Portage la Prairie

WINNIPEG — For the first time in over six years, performers and pilots will light up the sky at the Southport Airport in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba for the 2016 Manitoba Airshow.

The goal of the event is to get others interested in aviation, through both interactive and in-air displays.

The first air display — the Canadian Forces (CF) Skyhawks — will take place at noon, with the CF Snowbirds ascending to the skies at 3:30 p.m. to close out the show

Other activities throughout the day include a C130 Hercules search and rescue demo, as well as a performance from Anna Serbinenko, a class 1 aerobatic instructor.
