Suspects sought in drive-by paintball shootings in Ajax and Whitby: police

Police in Durham region are seeking the public’s help identifying two suspects linked to drive-by paintball shootings in Ajax and Whitby.

Durham Regional Police say four teenagers were hit with paintballs on three separate occasions on June 1.

The first incident happened just before 6 p.m. when a 15-year-old male on a bicycle was hit in the arm by someone inside a black SUV in the area of Harwood Avenue north of Rossland Road in Ajax.

Police say a 14-year-old male was also struck on Rossland Road east of Harwood Avenue and two 15-year-old males were hit in the area of Thickson and Rossland Roads in Whitby in the same manner.

No one was seriously injured in any of the shootings.

Police say the suspects are described as male white, around 17 years of age, with one of them having dark spiked hair.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a Honda or Nissan.
