Abbotsford chicken farmer, 39-year-old Kerry James Froese, has now been charged in connection with the fatal hit-and-run of a cyclist on Jan. 29, 2015.
Sixty-one-year-old Ronald James Scott was riding his bike in the 2000 block of Mt. Lehman Road just after 11 p.m. when he was hit.
Froese has now been charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident causing death.
It took investigators a few months to find the vehicle involved in the crash, but on June 10, 2015, they found the grey 2013 Ford Expedition on a property in the 28600 block of Huntingdon Road. At the time, Froese was identified as a person of interest, but declined to provide a statement to police.
Abbotsford Police officers are now hoping that with the announcement of the charge against Froese, “people with information will come forward and do the right thing.”

In an unrelated incident in 2011, Froese was given a six-month driving prohibition in connection with the death of 18-year-old Trevor Dueck in Abbotsford.
