Can you help Candace Shpeley's children find the answers to their mother's 2007 disappearance in Surrey? – Dec 6, 2019

A father is trying to bring attention to the disappearance of his daughter nine years ago.

Candace Shpeley was last seen in March 2007. Police called it unusual for the mother of three not to return home. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called in after a vehicle belonging to Shpeley was found in East Vancouver.

IHIT believes she met with foul play but in recent years, Shpeley’s father Barry says he has received very little information from investigators.

“Basically, my daughter’s case has been shoved off to the side,” he said. “I’m a little bit upset with that. I don’t know how to go about getting any attention.”

Barry Shpeley is offering a $25,000 reward to anyone who can provide information about Candace’s case.

“This money, if you can get them arrested and convicted, is yours,” he said.

In a statement, IHIT Staff Sgt. Jennifer Pound said:

“A POI [person of interest], who we believe had information about Candace’s disappearance, died in prison. This poses a problem with the evidence and information collection phase of the investigation, however, the investigation remains active and a full file review was conducted by IHIT in December 2014. “
