Greater Toronto Day draws in acts of kindness from across the GTA

WATCH ABOVE: Today is Greater Toronto Day! Join in and help make the GTA even better by doing simple acts of kindness – take out your neighbour’s trash, buy the next person in line a coffee or donate to a food bank – any good deed that makes the GTA a better place to live! – May 26, 2016

Mayor John Tory joined the Greater Toronto Day movement on Thursday by pledging to plant flowers and by issuing a proclamation of behalf of city council.

“On Greater Toronto Day, we can all celebrate our great city by doing good deeds and sharing stories of them on social media using the hashtag #GreaterTorontoDay. Every person can do a good deed and create a positive impact,” the proclamation read.

From helping to take out your neighbour’s trash to buying the next person in line a coffee, May 26 is a day when the public can make a difference by completing one simple deed.
