WINNIPEG — Another season of battling the dandelions plaguing Winnipeg’s lawns has begun.
It’s a sea of yellow all around the province. Just one season after Manitobans were forced to kick their now illegal chemicals to the curb, they’re looking for new ways to continue the battle.

Winnipeg weed companies are already filling up their calendars with home owners wanting to rid their backyards of the pesky yellow flowers.
“We’re out madly trying to get them all treated,” said Tom Gallagher with weeding company Weed Man.
Homeowners looking for alternative methods have decided to take matters in to their own hands. Fewer killing options means more frequent lawn mowing and even digging the dandelions off of their property.
As Manitoba’s ban on potentially harmful pesticides continues in to this season, locals say they’ll continue to look for the best option to wash away the sea of yellow.
